• Description:  This glass is a treasure!  It was made in the 1950's with the release of the popular series produced by Disney from 1954–1955, every little boy wanted to be Davy Crockett (see more below).  Hazel Atlas began producing drinking glasses with different enamel illustrations; this one is "Indian Fighter-Hero of Alamo 1786-1836" shows Davy fighting at The Alamo, it has a Red label.  This is a tumbler style glass, excellent for everyday use and great to serve juice or milk to the kids.   If you're starting a collection, this will be a great addition. We carry two other glasses from this series, (see last photo), while supplies last.

Davy Crockett was a five-part series produced by Disney, they aired on ABC from 1954–1955.  These were one hour tv episodes starting Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, titled: "Davy Crockett, Indian Fighter", "Davy Crockett Goes to Congress", and "Davy Crockett at the Alamo".  In 1955 Disney started to release compilations of the series as movies. "King of the Wild Frontier" (1955), and "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" (1956).  To this day we still recognize the theme song from the episodes and films, "The Ballad of Davy Crockett".  All these shows were loosely based on the real Davy Crockett, a famous 19th century American folk hero, frontiersman, explorer, soldier, and politician.
